Background & Experience.

I’ll get the cliché out of the way… I’ve known that I wanted to be a designer since I was at school.

There weren’t many subjects that I loved at school, I tolerated most and was average in all of them, except DT. Design Technology was my favourite subject from the day that lessons began, it stood out to me from all of the other academic subjects and was always the highlight of my week. Possibly by coincidence or more romantically by fate, I also found I had a talent for DT which only fuelled my enthusiasm. Fast forward by almost a decade and that same enthusiasm remains in me today.

When the time came to think about a university degree, my initial thoughts were with Architecture, buildings had always fascinated me and I had completed a weeks work experience at a local Architects after GCSEs. I decided that Architecture wasn’t for me, then briefly considered Civil Engineering, choosing Physics as one of my A-Levels. After dropping physics after about 2 months, I decided I needed something more creative, and that’s when I learnt about the field of Product Design. From there, I managed to earn a place on the Product Design course at Bournemouth University where I spent 4 wonderful years learning about the field in lectures, workshops and 1 year on placement.

Having completed my degree with First Class Honours, I was fortunate enough to secure a job and have been working in the industry for 2 years and counting. Whilst I love my job, I am always looking to expand my knowledge and skills, so I decided that in my free time, I would look to find freelance Design projects where I could push myself, help others and learn along the way.

So, please feel free to get in touch to discuss any projects, talk about any of my work in more detail or just to have a chat about anything related to design.

Cheers!

Adam
